Conclusion
This leachate will be a resource as opposed to a public nuisance. It would be more appropriate to transport it to a decommissioned part of the landfill to create “Everyone’s Park”. But at least this way, it is locally proven this can be done. The project received universal support in principle. No associates displayed negativity.
We can conclude which is the best variety of those tested will be best utilized from this case history.
Some metals found in this leachate shows more confirmation about poplars ability for certain contaminated sites.
If this project did not happen, public awareness would continue into apathy. This project displays other means of decontaminating with some understanding of future possible financial benefits. This project displays locally the possibility of mankind “harmonizing” within the bounds of creation, to manage our damage and help this community acknowledge having a conscience.
Political support was of the essence. Should this become print for the public to peruse, further support may find its way to politician’s impossible task toward making a difference.
The trees of the project in rows appropriately laid out can earn revenue by using certain industrial wastes as a growing agent. Various manure spreader configurations would earn tipping fees to expel problem wastes, (ie: brewery left overs).
The bio-mass value is realized at harvest. Carbon credit application and dollar retrieval may be accomplished within RDNO office staff works. Cap and Trade may be another method of cash receipts.
